Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 Everything You Wanted To Know

One of the best seasons so far has ended. With that, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 leaks come in like a storm.

This new one is called “zero point,” and introduces hunters from different realities. They decided to join forces to fight “the loop.”
One of those mentioned hunters is the one and only, Mandalorian. Of course, he has Baby Yoda (Grogu) by his side.

But it doesn’t stop there.

Here’s what we know so far.

What’s Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 About?

Chapter 2 Season 5 already started on December 1st of 2020.

So everyone can start enjoying 14 weeks of new content and fun challenges, until the last days of December.

As you may or not know, Galactus did arrive on the island and attempted to consume the “Zero Point.”

But luckily, Tony Stark created an army of modified Battle Buses (carrying bombs) to teleport Galactus away from the island and then, send him back to where he came from.

From the trailer, you can then see Agent Jonesy waking up after a long sleep.

He’s in charge of what appears to be an important mission. And for it, he has hired Hunters to stop people from leaving the loop.

Not only The Mandalorian is there, but others like Reese, Mancake, Mave, Kondor, Lexa, and Menace are there for the bounty.

And yes, bounties and gold bars are an essential new feature for Season 5.

We’ll talk about it in just a minute.

Luckily for Fortnite fans, Epic announced that more “hunters from the realities beyond,” or what I like to call “licensed characters” are on the way.

The God of War (Kratos) is one of those licensed characters.

Fortnite Kratos Skin: Classic, Armored, and Price

He’s now available as a purchasable Fortnite skin (2,200 V-bucks for the set), even when he’s from Sony.

While players on all platforms can get him, only those who play a match with this skin on PS5 unlock the Armored Kratos Style:

Here’s the trailer Sony x Epic Games released for its debut:

UPDATE: He isn’t the only legendary licensed hunter to come to “Zero point.”
The Master Chief is also here.

Fortnite Master Chief Skin: Classic, Armored, and Price

It was revealed throughout the 200 Game Awards, but without much surprise from fans (as leaks have already shown “Halo-guy” was coming).

Everyone’s favorite olive-colored Spartan (Hunter of the Covenant and destroyer of the Sacred Rings) carries vehicles with the Halo signature: the Warthog and Pelican.

If this wasn’t enough, you can also equip the holographic Elite skull as back bling, and transform your pickaxe into a Gravity Hammer.

Fortnite’s recreation of the classic Blood Gulch map is also playable.

And if you happen to be one of the lucky ones to get either an Xbox Series X or S, and play Fortnite on them, then you’ll unlock its matte black alternate – a memento of his story with Xbox.

Besides this awesome news for the Xbox fan base, other skins such as the Walking Dead’s Daryl and Michonne have been revealed. You can see them on this trailer:

Like in the past Marvel-themed season and all others before, Chapter 2 Season 5 rewards are locked behind a Battle Pass (it costs 950 V-Bucks, around $8.50).

There’s also a new Fortnite Crew subscription you can get now that gives you the Battle Pass, 1,000 V-bucks, and an exclusive skin, every single month.

Fortnite Season 5 Battle Pass

Either way, you go for… These are all the rewards available to earn by completing Chapter 2 Season 5 battle pass:

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 Bounty Challenges

Want to read more about it? Epic Games explain it briefly in this post.

Here’s a summary:
“Got a bounty on your head? Use the Tracking meter to gauge how hot the Hunter is on your trail. Avoid being taken out for long enough and you walk away with a reward instead. Protect your targeted teammates because everyone gets paid.

Once the Bounty target is done and dusted or you’ve eluded capture, your whole party will be rewarded with a new in-game currency – Bars!

Note that Bars are not a paid currency. Trade your stash of Bars in for high-class Exotic weapons, helpful consumables, and upgrades, or even hire them to fight alongside you.”

They can be anything from visiting a certain location to killing players with a specific weapon, and each one will supply you with a good amount of XP.

Where do you get those Fortnite Bounties?

Across the map by simply talking to NPCs. That would be enough to start the bounty.

Luckily for you, there are over 40 of them across the whole map

And once the Bounty is activated on… How do you complete it?

The first thing you’ll notice is that a notification will appear on the screen, showing who you got to eliminate (as in the wild west, it shows a picture of your target).

But that’s not enough. A yellow circle on the map will give you an estimate of the area where the enemy player is. So, you know the Bounty is completed after finding and taking the target out.

Here are more details about the Weekly Bounties.

Week 1

A) Discover Named Locations

You’ll have to visit five out of 17 different Named Locations. Here’s the complete list:

  • Catty Corner
  • Colossal Coliseum
  • Coral Castle
  • Craggy Cliffs
  • Dirty Docks
  • Holly Hedges
  • Hunter’s Haven
  • Lazy Lake
  • Misty Meadow
  • Pleasant Park
  • Retail Row
  • Salty Towers
  • Slurpy Swamp
  • Stealthy Stronghold
  • Steamy Stacks
  • Sweaty Sands
  • Weeping Woods

B) Shotgun Elimination and Assault Rifle damage: These two are quite straightforward and easy to clear (especially in Team Rumble).

C) Sniper Rifle Eliminations from 150m: Here’s where it starts to get difficult because it requires a much better aim. This is a little more difficult as it requires some good aim.

D) Eliminations with both common and uncommon weapons: The end-game (final circle) is where this challenge gets considerably easier to achieve.

E) Explosive damage to structures: Basically, using grenades. Preferably, on larger structures as the Colossal Coliseum (which will be shown in a moment).

Indeed, the best hunters only take their time executing if the reward is good enough.

Don’t fear, because you’ll get around 115,000 XP after you complete each challenge.

Epic Games have announced that rewards will vary according to the week they’re played on. Week 2, and forward will be coming soon.

Fortnite Season 5 Map Update

If you have been playing Fortnite for a while, you may have noticed that it’s something common for the team to add new areas to the map now and then.

Here is the new map for Season 5 (v15.00).

And here are some of the new locations:

Salty Towers

Stealthy Stronghold

Colossal Coliseum

Desert Boat

Butter Barn

Hunters Haven

Tomato Town

Viking Village

Flush Factory

Spawn Island

They look beautiful, don’t they?

Well, the Map isn’t the only thing they retouched.

We also have new Wallpapers (or Loading Screens) for Chapter 2 Season 5

And last, but not least, we also got new details about next-gen Fortnite.

Fortnite Season 5 Is Playable On PS5 and Xbox Series X

This got me excited, even if I haven’t got any next-gen consoles in 2020.

Both Sony and Microsoft’s machines offer similar, still desired enhancements, like…

  • 4K and 120 frames per second,
  • Xbox Series S 1080 60 FPS support,
  • Unreal Engine 4 (Unreal Engine 5 in 2021),
  • Ray Tracing (TBA).

This last one will make all shiny surfaces (such as glass and windows) reflect accurately. Light will look better across all environments, and fills in objects will meet with realistic shadows (simply put, will look better).

Too Long; Don’t Read (TL;DR)

Do you like what Chapter 2 Season 5 has brought so far?

I do a lot. It was a nice addition and did achieve the expectation from the most recent and expansive previous season.

Of course, we (you and I) are always looking for more.

This is why I invite you to bookmark this guide… Because we’ll keep updating throughout the whole month of December.
